10-Minute Version

If you are a Christian, Jesus has clothed you. In armour. Armour that protects you against the devil’s schemes. Jesus changed you to fit into that cross-shaped armour and now all you need to do is stand in his strength.

So: when things get tough, remember whose you are. Don’t lose hope. Jesus will protect you.

But there is something else. In order for us to have become Christians in the first place many other Christians wearing ‘shoes of readiness’ reached us. Likewise, part of our own armour is a pair of ‘shoes of readiness’.

So: equipped by the Spirit, clothed in God’s armour and wearing our shoes of readiness, we can enter the dark places of the world to plunder Satan’s kingdom searching for captives, announcing the good news of their release. (Alive in Him, Gloria Furman).

God had placed Paul in prison where he asked for prayer to ‘fearlessly make know the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains.’ Ephesians 6:19, 20.

Where has Jesus stationed you?
