Winter Electives

July 2, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - July 4, 2018 @ 8:00 pm

When you read the Bible it is hard to ignore the numerous references to how we think. In Romans 12 Paul speaks about the renewal of our minds as opposed to them being conformed to the world’s patterns of thought. In fact, to risk oversimplification, your mind will be shaped by one of two things: God’s Word or the world. So for three nights in the July holidays we are running elective talks, tackling some of the contentious and cultural issues facing Christians today.

Our purpose is to listen to what God has to say about these questions and challenges. Ironically, we belong to a culture that enshrines tolerance but simultaneously hates anyone who disagrees with the status quo. Therefore Christians often find themselves coming against what the world values and believes on a range of issues. If this is your experience then you should join us next week as we think about the gospel and:

  • human sexuality
  • the role of women in the local church
  • the poor
  • our conscience
